Set the line or course of the wall. If a curved wall use a rope or garden hose. If a straight wall, string and stakes would suffice. Note> The height of the wall will change the width. The higher it goes the wider the wall should be.
Dig trench of 150mm. Add 100mm of loose gravel and then compact this gravel down to a depth of 50mm. Ensure that the loose gravel is compacted firmly, the strength of a wall depends on the strength of the foundation. Step three> Fill the remaining 100mm with poured concrete. Wait for the concrete to dry before proceeding.
Sorting your building stone. All the biggest stones must be used at the base of the wall. Sort you stone from size.
Using semi-dry concrete mortar and place your stones into the structure carefully. Use plenty of mortar in the joints, though take care to place evenly. Use trowel to tap down the stone after each one is placed. Continue this process until wall finish.
