Alpha Shower Tanking Tape 125mm x 5m – Waterproof Joint Sealing Tape

The Shower Tanking Tape 125mm x 5m is a waterproof joint sealing tape that reinforces wall-to-floor joints and corners in bathroom and wetroom tanking systems.

It's designed to strengthen the weak points in a tiled wet area before tiling starts: wall-to-floor joints, internal corners, and other change-of-plane and movement areas. In Irish bathrooms and wet rooms, proper waterproofing at these joints matters, because once tiles are down, moisture that gets behind them through an unsealed joint can sit against plasterboard, screed or tile backer boards and cause long-term structural damage that's difficult to trace back to its source. Embedding this tape into a liquid waterproofing membrane at every joint and corner forms a continuous, watertight barrier across the whole tanking system, rather than leaving the membrane to bridge those joints on its own.

Fitting a tanking tape correctly at every joint, corner and transition is what makes the difference between a wet room that stays dry behind the tiles for years and one that develops damp patches or substrate damage within a couple of seasons. It's a standard part of best-practice wet area tiling in Ireland, and it's suited to both professional tiling work and careful DIY bathroom renovations, giving the membrane something reliable to bond to across every joint rather than relying on the coating alone.

It's a professional shower tanking tape for bathrooms and wet rooms, flexible enough for straightforward installation, and it's used across shower enclosures, wet rooms, bathroom renovations, utility rooms, and residential and commercial tiling projects generally.
