Alpha XPS Shower Niche with Shelf

The XPS Shower Niche with Shelf provides a pre-formed, waterproof recessed storage box that is ready to tile directly into wet room walls.

Say goodbye to clunky wire baskets and suction-cup shelves that rust and fall off over time. The Alpha XPS Shower Niche with Shelf (SKU: TALPHW87) is a smart, space-saving solution that builds sleek, recessed storage directly into your shower wall. Featuring an external size of 406 × 737mm and a clever integrated shelf, it gives you two neat compartments to keep your shampoos, conditioners, and body washes organized, off the floor, and easily within reach.

Building a custom, waterproof shower box from scratch requires precise timber framing, complex backing board cuts, and tedious sealing—wasting valuable time on site. This pre-shaped niche takes all the frustration out of the job. Crafted from lightweight, ultra-rigid XPS foam, it fits straight into your wall studding or backer board opening. You get perfectly square, 90-degree internal corners and a sturdy built-in shelf instantly, ensuring a fast, hassle-free installation for both professional tilers and confident DIYers.

Because recessed alcoves sit directly in the splash zone, water protection is crucial. Manufactured with a high-density XPS core, this unit is 100% waterproof and inherently mold-resistant. The surface features a specialized cementitious coating designed to grip tile adhesive tightly, allowing you to tile directly over it using porcelain, ceramic, or natural stone tiles. Simply tape and seal the perimeter joints into your main wall tanking system, and you have an impenetrable moisture barrier that protects your home's structural framing for decades.

Recessing your shower storage into the wall cavity keeps your shower enclosure feeling open, uncluttered, and spacious. Aligning the niche edges and shelf with your main tile grout lines creates a high-end, custom architectural feature that instantly elevates your bathroom design. It turns essential daily storage into a stylish focal point that is super easy to wipe clean.
