Alpha Outside Waterproofing Corners (2 Pack)

The Alpha Outside Waterproofing Corners (2 Pack) are pre-formed, flexible external tanking corners for watertight 90 degree joints in showers and wet rooms.

External wall junctions are one of the harder details to waterproof properly by hand, since a flat membrane naturally wants to lift or crease around an outside corner rather than sit flush against it. These corners are pre-formed to fit external 90° angles, so the shape is already correct before you start, which helps create a permanent watertight seal rather than one that relies on careful cutting and folding on site. Each bag contains 2 outside corners, ready for fast installation on shower, wet room and tiled bathroom projects.

The fleece-backed membrane bonds strongly with tile adhesive and tanking systems, and it's designed to work alongside liquid tanking membranes, waterproof joint tape and decoupling membranes as part of a complete bathroom waterproofing build-up. It stays flexible once installed, so it can accommodate slight building movement without the seal cracking, which is what protects the junction from leaks and water damage over the life of the installation. They're suited to bathroom renovations, shower enclosure waterproofing, wet room tanking systems, tiled wall and floor junctions, and use with XPS tile backer boards, across both domestic and commercial projects in Ireland.

Installation and quick guide:

• Ensure the substrate is clean, dry and stable
• Apply tanking slurry or tile adhesive to the outside corner area
• Press the pre-formed corner firmly into position
• Smooth out with a trowel to remove air pockets
• Overlap waterproof joint tape by at least 50mm
• Allow to cure before tiling
